If you decide to evacuate your home, please bring your pet with you.
Have your pet current on vaccinations.
If your pet has a microchip, phone the manufacturer to verify that they have your correct contact information.
If your pet does not have a microchip, strongly consider having one implanted by your veterinarian.
Have documentation of:
Proof of ownership
Veterinarian name/contact information
Microchip #, manufacturer, phone #
Medication & feeding instructions
Current picture of your pet
*** Keep these items in a waterproof container.
5. Have supplies for your pet:
Carrier or crate
Food & Water for 2 weeks/Bowls
First Aid Kits
Bedding & Toys
Leash & Collar INCLUDING name tag with your contact information, contact information for someone who does not live in the area, and the address of the shelter
Manual can opener (for canned food)
Spray Cleaner/Paper towels/Newspapers or Litter/Plastic Bags
*** Label all items with pets’s name
